I had another ultrasound today and left the doctor's office with a smile on my face. Baby Folden is doing well. He weighed in at 1 pound which seems like a
big milestone to me for some reason. The cysts in his brain have
already resolved on their own which the doctor was happy about. He is
growing at a normal rate which is great news and his stomach, liver,
kidneys, are all where they are supposed to be. Right now we are
dealing with two loops of small intestine that are protruding out of the
hole in his abdomen - the doctor assures me this is a minor case of
gastroschisis and the surgery should be very straight forward. Things
can always change as the pregnancy progresses, but for now we have a
best case scenario for his condition which is music to my ears. And if
things continue this way, I may be able to have a vaginal delivery
instead of a c section which would be great so I can have a quicker
recovery and be with him at the children's hospital as soon as
possible.
