Meeting our surgeon

David and I met with a surgeon from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta today.  I liked Dr. Bhatia a lot.  She works with seven other surgeons so there is no guarantee she will be the one on call when our son has his surgery, but I trust the other surgeons are as competent as she is.  It is hard to beat the standard of care offered at Egleston.  The baby will be transported there in an ambulance immediately after I deliver which will either be at St. Mary's in Athens or Northside in Atlanta.  The jury is still out on whether I will be able to deliver vaginally or if I will need a c section.  I have come to accept there will be many things I have no control over and cannot plan ahead of time.  I fondly recall the Serenity Prayer and move along with my day when I start getting anxious about the details.
